Vulcan Sim Racing Weekly – Edition #9: Practice Makes Perfect
Welcome to Vulcan Sim Racing Weekly! The blog which takes you on all the events over the past 7 days inside Vulcan!
It was a quieter week in terms of on track racing this week, with just the CXR league being one of two leagues being run this week. It was Sebring and all three drivers impressed this week. Luke McKeown in the Audi R8 GT3 managed a 7th place result at Sebring, losing out to the highly competitive Ford and despite being spun late on in the race due to connection issues, he managed to cling onto 7th place in the race and 5th place in the championship. Callam Brant came home 9th even with a badly damaged car and enjoyed some close battles throughout the race and sits 8th in the championship, 21 points behind Luke. The standout performer though, was Dom Forster, who gained 13 positions in one of his most convincing displays to date, to bring his 488 GT3 home in 10th place. His string of consistent results makes him a top 10 contender in the standings and sits just 7 points behind Callam. In ARL, Luke Mckeown won race 2 convincingly, making quick work of his fellow drivers around the Nurburgring GP track. It was also a good week for Mo Janko, picking up two 7th place finishes.

Away from the league racing, Vulcan has been preparing for next weekend’s iELMS race at Le Mans, where for the first time we look set to be fielding four teams! There will be three LMP2 teams (VSR, VSR Black and VSR Yellow) and one GTE team running the Ferrari 488 GTE (VSR White). Another event being prepared for is the upcoming Nurburgring Endurance Championship race, with Tom Male, Dom Forster and Callam Brant taking to the green hell for practice.
Finally, off the track, new driver Jason Hodgson was revealed in an article you can find here! https://vulcansim.racing/jason-joining-the-team/
Jason has settled in well amongst the boys and has become a driving force in Vulcan’s Le Mans efforts!
